Light Seeking Car (Moth Car)

Primary image

What does it do?

Navigate around according to ambient light

Let me introduce you to my Moth Car! The Moth Car is made from the chassis of an old RC car I found out in the shed. Forgotten and deteriorating away I decided to give it a new life.

I carefully de-soldered the wires from the battery pack and DC motors and kept the receiver for another day. Using the Adafruit motor shield for the Arduino Uno I connected the cables. Making sure that everything was connected properly and operational I uploaded some test code and thankfully it all worked.

Avoids Danger!

This is my Lumi bug. I was poking aroung looking at my favorite robotsand I though hmmmI have all these parts already and should take advantage of Hurricane Sandy's time off.

Love this little guy!

I may improve him or shrink him in the future, for now he is complete.

This is also my first complete robot that recharges and has a tiny arse switch.

Cheers!

Bajdupod 9G

Primary image

What does it do?

I hope it will be able to walk around.

This my version of a small hexapod with micro 9G servos. I'm using 2 DOF legs, that way I' need to control 12 servos. They are all controlled by an ATmega328. The board I'm using is my own design. I've named it the Bajduino 3A, it has an ATmega328P-PU and a LM2576 switch mode voltage regulator. The regulator should be good for 3A. Power comes from a 2S Lipo battery. I drew up some pieces in Autocad and had them laser cut by a local company. Not cheap but I prefer it this way, I'm not a mechanical man. I prefer to design things on a pc and let others make it.

Small Quadruped Robot

Primary image

What does it do?

Navigate around via ultrasound

Hi, I'm new to LMR as a member. But I've been browsing around LMR to learn robotics. First, sorry for my bad English. I finished making my quadruped robot a couple weeks ago. It was my first robotic project using microcontroller. In fact, it was my first microcontroller project. Unfortunately it wasn't well documented during the making process since I didn't plan to publish it before. :( So here is what I can collect from scattered file in my PC..

Andrew - First robot

Primary image

What does it do?

Change direction when meet wall

Hi all! First robot ever, saying it's not great would be an euphemism, nevertheless I would be very glad to get some feedback from you.

How it works : two switches on the front, when it meets a wall, andrew goes backwards and turn, then turn the other direction and goes forward again (see video - about the video, sorry for the poor quality, I had to use a phone, I can post a better one next weekend)

Overview

We are building this robot with my friend. It is (when finalized) supposed to be able to detect metal objects and interact with them (move them, ideally...). So far it has only two IR sensors for obstacle detection, so no metal detection.

Arduino quadruped robot

Primary image

What does it do?

Walk forward and backword

Hi all,

I’ve been working on my first real robot last week-end and wanted to share it. It’s a simple quadruped arduino robot controlled by serial (via USB). Videos can be viewed on my blog : http://blog.joomun.org/2012/09/09/arduino-quadruped-robot/

The robot structure has been created with cheap mecanno clone

IR control has been added, i'll update the blog later.

Hamster tracker

Primary image

What does it do?

Trackes the running distance for a hamster wheel.

Hamster tracker is a project that came from a hamster forum, my GF reads. A guy there had put a bike computer on his the hamster wheel to measure the speed.

I thought that I could do that in a bit more complicated way. So I started to figure out, what we needed and the speed would just not do it for me. So I thought that the proper way to it, would be to store all the runs in a database, for later analysis. This would also make it possible to display some info on the internet.
