completely lost with rover 5 and dagu comotion shield

hi there,

I'm an app programmer trying to get into the hardware world.

I bought myself an arduino uno a rover 5 2 motors and 2 encoders  and the comotion shield(https://robosavvy.com/store/dagu-commotion-motor-driver-shield.html)  hoping to be able to follow this tutorial :

https://create.arduino.cc/projecthub/15ashworthh/controlling-the-dagu-rover-5-66c8bf

I still can't figure which wires are for the encoders and which for the motors.

Am i being silly but I don't see it anywhere in the rover 5 manual~ :(

17 Year-old programs a robot to teach itself to walk!!

Hi everyone!

My name is Gregory, but you can call me Greg. I am a 17 year-old high school student who is building a very interesting robot(I am also doing all of the designing and prototyping. I am building a six-legged robot, called a "hexapod", that is able to teach itself to walk.

Clubs in UK

I want to build an autonomous mobile robot with wheels or tracks, vision, arms and carrying ability (for example a tray area) that can navigate in a flat inside or outside domestic environment (not both).

I am UK based, have some old OO programming experience and general PC -based programming experience but no electronics expertise apart from basic school physics .

I work full-time so this would very much be a part-time project.  From looking around I'm thinking of perhaps using ROS, OpenCV and maybe Arduino components but would like to know

Dagu Rover 5 2WD + 2Encoders + PCB + Arduino Mega + Pan & Tilt with IR

Hi All, As a complete novice at this I thought it would be a great idea to get a Dagu Rover 5 with the addons for the kids at school and start up a club to program it. How wrong I was! I am in need of some serious help guys... I've managed to plug everything in, the 2 motors and encoders on the underside of the PCB board and have chosen not to use the 6xAA battery pack (9V) in favour of a single 9V battery (fits better under the PCB with all the cables). Problem number 1 is this: I think I am plugging in the black and red cables into the PCB in the correct locations - on the top

Cant find a tutorial !

Hi everyone,

Recently I came across some very good hexapods designed with 6,8 and even 12 servos.I have a duemilanove and would like to build one.

But unfortunately I have not ventured into this domain and my search for a step by step tutorial on google(on multilegged critters like hexapod) and instructables proved futile.Any Links that can help me get started or rather a complete tutorial link would be awesome. Thanks!

beginer in electronics needs to program

i've made bristlebots, speaker tones, dc motor cars  and other stuff

BUT

when i have to program  in arduino UNO i just copy other codes from other people

cause...  I dont know how to program at all!!!! i think arduino's language is c,and i don't know  how to program

Rover 5 2WD with Explorer PCB ... Which Arduino should I use?

Hi all,

Building my first robot here .

I have narrowed down my search in to these

1.Rover 5 2WD

2.Degu Explorer PCB

Not sure which Arduino board to go with , I have hopes of attaching a IR Compound Eye and a spycam later .

Can I do this with Arduino UNO? or should I go for Spider board?

Apart from that what else should I buy to get me going?

Thanks in advance

Number of Servo's Attached to an Arduino.

Just a quick question that I'm struggling to get a straight answer from the intertubes about...

I'm looking at purchasing an arduino board to control some servo's, and wondering how many each can control?

For example: Uno R3 has 14 digital i/o pins (6PWM outputs), and 6 analog inputs. What does this mean exactly?

Arduino Motor Shield Help!!!

I just got my first Arduino motor shield. However, all the servo ports have 4 pins. The problem is that my servos only have 3 pins. Any help is greatly appreciated! By the way, my shield is an Arduino Motor shield from Seeed.
