My FirstMonster (or FM for short)

Primary image

What does it do?

autonomouse navigation

I managed to finish my first robot on witch I spent a lot of time, mostly because a lot of stuff was new to me. It is not very complicated but it seems to do it's job well. I posted everything about the build on my blog and also the parts I used (and the ones I rejected).

It is a Tamiya tracked platform with dual gearbox. I used an Arduino UNO and a SeeedStudio motor shield to drive it from a 11.7 lipo battery I had from my RC heli. It uses a Ultrasonic sensor to look in front and also a DIY IR sensor for backing up. I also added a temperature sensor for the fun of it.

L33T - Personal service robot

Primary image

What does it do?

Personal assistance (Butler)

Time to make a formal reveal as to the project I am working on, L33T. The idea behind L3 is to be a personal service robot, to help out wherever he can and interact with people in the household, efectively being a robot butler.

When thinking of what L3 should be and what it should look like I drew a lot of inspiration from R2, even the naming scheme is similar. R2 was able to manevour well in tight situations, he could 'talk' to and understand people, and was capable of performing bulter like tasks.

Light chasing autonomous rover

Primary image

What does it do?

Chases light source and avoids obstacles

I started 2 years ago with an autonomous rover that chases light and avoids obstacles. We're now 11 versions further and version 12 is almost ready! Eventually the rover must cruise around without hitting any objects and return to a charging station when the battery runs low. I'll show you the evolution of the rover, starting with version 2 (version 1 was crap)

Object Avoidance Robot MK1

Primary image

What does it do?

Navigate around via ultrasound

Hello everyone. My ultrasonic sensors arrived (4 in total) but instead of using them on my scrapbot, i found some 360 degree servos that i had gathering dust from a previous project.so i decided to make use if them. The scrapbot was too loud because of the build materials so i settled with this.

In the video it has the distance set to 30cm.

Arduino based Cybot

Primary image

What does it do?

Navigate around via ultrasound but will eventually do more

I recently recieved lots of Cybot parts from my friend who collected the parts of eBay, no longer wanting them he kindly gave them to me, my plan was to convert it to an Arduino based robot.

If you are not aware what a Cybot looks like here is a picture I took before the dismantling process:

The Cybot had some good features; line following, IR remote control, speech recognition and even the ability to find its IR ball and shoot goals into an IR goal.

Rover

Primary image

What does it do?

Roams around autonomously.

A small autonomous robot that wonders around. It's built out of parts I recieved for Christmas, such as a Rover 5 platform w/ driver board. It currently doesn't run. The only thing I need is jumper wires, which I'm gonna pick up at Radioshack tomorrow. I'll update when I can get it moving.

Obstacle avoidance robot (made from drift car)

Primary image

What does it do?

Navigate around via ultrasound

Hello again everybody my name is chickenparmi, and I like robots.

Today I would like to show you my obstacle avoidance bot, with a difference. The difference with this bot is that it has been build onto an RC drift car, meaning it goes very fast and is very dangerous.
