Creeper

What does it do?

Navigate around via ultrasound or controlled by bluetooth

Inspired by this one: http://www.instructables.com/id/Strandbot-a-solar-arduino-powered-RC-motorize/ Autonomous walker, based on a model of the strandbeest. This unit runs on 20rpm 6 volt motors and walks real slow. On the other hand, it's very silent. Due to it's sweeping sensor it can run autonomous, but it can also be controlled with a bluetooth enabled device. On the front a small speaker, connected to a voice record and playback chip; when it runs into something, it does a Uh-Oh :)

Things still to work on:

- give it a paint job

3d Printed Quadruped

Primary image

What does it do?

Obstacle avoidance via ping, hand tracking (eventually)

Still lots to do, but I finally got this guy printed and assembled. He has 3DOF per leg using cheap 9g servos :( I'm using Inverse kinematics for his movement. I just started programming him and got the IK working for one leg. The ping((( is just stuck in the mega2560 for now. I'll be adding a tilt/pan head when I get more servos, and the wiring needs some cleaning up :p I just found out about LMR last week and so far it's awesome! Hopefully by the end of next weekend I'll have some walk sequence video to show off.

Jeffrey The Quadruped

Primary image

What does it do?

It is a pet. It can stay on tables without falling, navigates around via IR sensor, interacts with people

Hey guys,
Just found out about LMR and wanted to share some of the robots we have made in past. (so, I will post 4-5 more projects soon)

Jeffrey The Quadruped is a quite small walker with 4 legs. It has printed circuit board with a custom arduino setup, using an Atmega328.
It has a Sharp IR Rangefinder attached on 2 servos and uses a simple rotational object tracking algorithm to let him create temporary low resolution visual maps. This way it can stay on a table, stay away from objects and even track your hands with a single sensor.
