The challenging demands of over time trucking, which involves covering long distances both day and night, contribute to widespread sleep deprivation among truck drivers. Among car drivers as well due to late night driving resulting fatigue and drowsiness play a significant role in causing major accidents on the roads. According to a study conducted, fatigued drivers who dozed off at the wheel were responsible for 42% of traffic accidents on the 300 Km Agra-Lucknow Motorway in 2022, with Uttar Pradesh experiencing a high number of fatalities.
