A variety of storage products are on sale from SanDisk and its parent company, Western Digital, including the SanDisk microSD Extreme for Mobile Gaming. The small but mighty 256GB card has a 21 percent discount, dropping the price from $28 to $22. This memory size (along with the slightly reduced 64GB and 128GB options) has A2 app performance for quicker recall, with a minimum random read speed of 4,000 IOPS. The SanDisk 256GB microSD's Nintendo Switch Fortnite Edition is also on sale, down to $28 from $50 — a 44 percent price cut.

Other discounted SanDisk products include the 512GB Extreme PRO Flash Drive, with a 28 percent drop bringing the price from $97.52 to $70. The flash drive works at speeds up to 420MB per second for reading and 380MB per second for writing while transferring photos and videos to a Mac or PC. It also offers RescuePRO for retrieving any accidentally deleted data. If you need extra storage, the 1TB version is 45 percent off at $117.

Western Digital, which acquired SanDisk for $19 billion in 2015, has discounts on an even larger storage device — its 2TB WD_BLACK D30 Game SSD Portable External Drive. The two-and-a-half inch Game Drive for Xbox is 45 percent off, bringing its cost down from $290 to $160. The price also includes one month of an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. It can store an average of 50 games and works at speeds up to 900MB per second. If you also want compatibility with a Playstation or PC, that model has a slightly smaller discount, with a 33 percent drop bringing the price to $180.

A favorite Samsung Galaxy Watch feature might just be making a comeback. MySmartPrice has shared leaked renders procured by tipster OnLeaks that appear to show the full Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic design — and it includes a physical rotating bezel. Samsung notably removed the physical dial from the Galaxy Watch 5, which utilizes a touch bezel that requires users to swipe their finger at the edge of the screen to change between apps or faces. 

The Galaxy Watch 4 had a physical rotating bezel for easy twisting — without necessarily needing to double-check the placement of your finger. Judging by the leak, the bezel on the upcoming model will be slightly thinner compared to those earlier versions and reports suggest it will border a 1.47-inch Super AMOLED display with a 470 x 470 resolution. 

SamMobile also suggests that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will be powered by the Exynos W980 chip, giving it around a 10 percent boost compared to the Exynos W920 found in Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 models.

It will likely be a couple of months before the return of the physical bezel is fully confirmed. Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Watch 6 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Tab S9 at its Unpacked 2023 event in the coming months.

Once-successful Virgin Orbit has been sold for parts at auction after the company declared bankruptcy in April. In a $16.1 million deal, Rocket Lab USA, a small satellite launch provider and aerospace manufacturer, bought Virgin Orbit's 144,000 square foot Long Beach headquarters and a variety of on-site machinery and equipment.

Rocket Lab USA is currently developing Neutron, a larger launch vehicle, from its headquarters, conveniently also located in Long Beach. In a statement about the purchase, Peter Beck, Rocket Lab's CEO and founder, said adding Virgin Orbit's lease "provides co-located engineering, manufacturing and test capabilities for our Neutron team."

The now-defunct Virgin Orbit started in 2017 as an off-shoot of Virgin Galactic, billionaire Richard Branson's space tourism venture. Its goal was to use a modified Boeing 747 aircraft, known as Cosmic Girl, to deploy small satellites into low Earth orbit, but only four of its six flights since its first in 2020 have been successful. The company attempted to save money through methods like going public in 2021 and, most recently, furloughing its 750 or so employees. However, they weren't enough, and the company reported a $191.2 million net loss for 2022. In April, Virgin Orbit officially declared bankruptcy and laid off most of its employees.

In total, Virgin Orbit has earned just over $36 million from bankruptcy sales, CNBC reported. Cosmic Girl sold for $17 million to Stratolaunch, creator of the world's largest plane. A small satellite transport business, Launcher, paid an additional $2.7 million for Virgin Orbit's launch site in the Mojave Desert — about a six-hour drive from their south Los Angeles headquarters. Launcher is owned by Vast, a company attempting to launch the first private space station.

Amazon's Fire TV devices are currently on sale, with its Fire TV Cube reaching a new all-time low price at $120, down from $140. The third-generation model has been hovering around $125 since it dropped in September, so the latest discount is another $5 off. It's not a significant change, but you can use that leftover money to grab some batteries or even snacks for your next watch.

The third-gen Amazon Fire TV Cube has a 2GHz octa-core processor that claims to be twice as powerful as the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. It also features Wi-Fi 6E support, though you might need a compatible router to fully benefit from it, and has support for Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos audio and HDR. Plus, you can use Alexa to start video calls, change channels and more.

Amazon is also offering sales on a range of Fire TV Sticks with the 4K Max back down to its all-time low at $35 — a 36 percent discount, and quite a bit cheaper than the Fire TV Cube. It still supports Dolby Vision and Atmos audio, HDR and HDR10+, with a 1.8GHz quad-core processor and offers Wi-Fi 6.

The other Fire TV Sticks are also on sale for close to their lowest recorded prices, with the Fire TV Stick Lite dropping to $20 and the standard model offering the biggest deal, at 38 percent off, down to $25.

ChatGPT no longer needs to rely on its own models or plugins to provide information to users: Microsoft has announced Bing Search is integrating into ChatGPT to provide more relevant — and potentially newer — responses. Bing will act as the "default search experience," allowing ChatGPT to pull answers from the internet and provide citations.

Microsoft and OpenAI have worked together closely over the last few months, with Bing, itself, running on GPT-4 (with some tailoring for searches). Bing works by displaying responses in detailed or summary form and sources facts and suggestions with footnotes of sorts — features it can bring to ChatGPT to, possibly, provide more precise information. Previously, ChatGPT relied solely on individual plugins to access any recent information.

Other new Bing updates are plugin-centric, including a single platform for developers to create and submit them for ChatGPT, Bing, Microsoft 365 Copilot and more. Bing is adding a slew of companies to its in-chat plugin options, such as Expedia, Zillow and Klarna, for targeted communication on topics like travel and shopping. The common plugin platform is also being natively integrated into Microsoft Edge — where Bing is already built-in.

The exact timeline for each of these developments isn't entirely clear beyond Bing's immediate integration into ChatGPT for Plus subscribers. According to Microsoft, free ChatGPT accounts will be able to access Bing through a plugin "soon," and company plugin experiences will become available in the "coming weeks."

A variety of Razer's gaming accessories and peripherals are currently discounted on Amazon, including its Blackwidow V3 TKL keyboard, a favorite of gamers at Engadget. Normally retailing at $100, the silent version is 20 percent off at $80, while the clicky model is 15 percent off at $85. Both models support 16.8 million colors across the keys and can handle up to 80 million clicks.

The Kraken X headset is also on sale with a 48 percent discount bringing the 7.1 surround sound headphones down from $60 to $31. They feature a noise-canceling microphone along with volume and mute buttons right on the left earcup.

Razer's Viper Ultralight Mouse has one of the biggest discounts, with a 50 percent slash dropping the price from $80 to $40. The ambidextrous mouse has an 8000Hz polling rate, meaning there's next to no input latency. The woven wire means there are no concerns about battery life while still allowing for smooth movements. It also holds up to five stored profiles and utilizes the Focus+ 20K Optical Sensor for features like motion sync.

Rounding out the Razer gaming basics currently on sale is the Wolverine V2 Chroma controller for Xbox, with a 27 percent discount bringing the price from $150 to $110. Like with the Blackwidow V3 TKL keyboard, gamers can customize it with 16.8 million colors and light effects. The controller also offers four extra triggers and two remappable bumpers. Users can change the color effects and button controls through the Razer Control Setup for Xbox app.

Human-computer interaction company Sightful is releasing its first product, Spacetop, a screen-less “augmented reality laptop” projecting tabs across a 100-inch virtual screen. The laptop — if you can call it that — is a hardware deck and full-size keyboard with a pair of tailored NReal glasses. The glasses project tabs directly in front of whatever the user is looking at while remaining invisible to anyone else.

Specs-wise, Spacetop is running a Snapdragon 865 paired with an Adreno 650 GPU, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, putting it in the same class as some of the smartphones that are already capable of driving AR glasses. It’s not smartphone-sized, however, measuring 1.57-inches high, 10.47-inches wide and 8.8-inches deep, and it weighs in at 3.3 pounds, the same as plenty of laptops we could choose to mention here.

Sightful is clearly gunning for a crossover hit in the the work-from-home-or-anywhere market. “Laptops are the centerpiece of our daily working lives, but the technology has not evolved with the modern, work from anywhere, privacy matters, ‘road warrior’ mentality. Meanwhile, augmented reality is full of potential and promise but is yet to find its daily use case,” said Tamir Berliner, Sightful co-founder who previously worked at both Leap Motion and Primesense. “We are at the perfect moment for a significant paradigm shift in a device we all know and love.”

For now, Spacetop is only available to buy for 1,000 early adopters through an application-based program. Right now, we don’t have word on how much this will cost you, or when you’ll be able to pick it up, but we’ll watch this project with interest to see if it’ll succeed where so many others have failed. 

Ahead of Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Sony is revealing further information about what is now being, aptly, called the Access controller for the PS5. The company first shared information about the controller back in January under the name "Project Leonardo." The announcement brings it one small, and long overdue, step closer to offering parity with Microsoft, which released the Xbox Adaptive Controller back in 2018.

The Access controller is customizable to accommodate different ranges of motion and strengths. The Analog stick caps are available in standard, dome and ball shapes. The button caps come in options including pillow and flat, alongside more unique sizes. The wide flat button cap covers two button sockets, the overhang style is equipped for people with smaller hands and the curve button cap can be pushed or pulled. The controller can be laid flat, placed at various angles, and it can be installed onto a tripod or other custom mount.

Once synced to their PS5, gamers can choose controller orientation, assign actions to each button and change sensitivity settings. Controls can also be programmed to work continuously with a single push. Basically, instead of having to hold down a button to sprint, clicking it once will work the same way. This change reduces strength and mobility needs across games. There's also room to integrate the DualSense Wireless controller, which can sync with two Access controllers to create a "single virtual controller."

"We're just getting started with our accessibility journey with PS5," Mark Friend, Sony's accessibility lead, explained in an accessibilities update video featuring employees from around the world. Other notable features mentioned include high contrast mode and traversal or navigation assist.

Sony may have timed the announcement to Global Accessibility Awareness Day, the controller itself won't be around for it. Currently, the Access controller has no available release date or price, with more details coming "in the months ahead." 

Uber is really leaning into getting users to collaborate more through a series of new features across its core app and Uber Eats. Many of the updates announced, including group rides and grocery orders, focus on digitally connecting friends and family. 

On the primary Uber app, the company is removing any awkwardness for people who don't actually know their friends' addresses by heart (spoiler: almost everyone). Now each passenger can enter their own pick-up or drop-off location after being invited to the ride. According to Uber, other upcoming related features include changes to the stop order based on efficiency and charging each person for however long their part of the journey was. 

Uber is also trying a new feature that has never been done before, especially not by taxis: calling to request a ride. People who don't have the app (or a smartphone) can now call the toll-free number 1-833-USE-UBER (1-833-873-8237) to schedule an immediate or future ride in English or Spanish. The rider will then get a text confirming their booking. It's a groundbreaking idea, to say the least. 

On Uber Eats, there are two, slightly more unique, updates: group grocery shopping and video messages with gifts. The option for group groceries means that, instead of shouting upstairs to see if whoever you live with needs anything from the store, you can instead invite them to a shared shopping cart. Each person can add deadlines for when they need certain groceries bought, create a recurring order, and send other members a reminder to add what they need. Most participating stores on Uber Eats will also split the bill. 

Anyone who uses Uber Eats to send surprises to loved ones can make use of another update the next time they add one to their cart. Gifts on Uber Eats are getting a more personalized touch with the option for senders to record and attach video messages. Right now, this feature is only available for gift cards, but Uber claims it will soon work with anything you send. 

These updates come alongside a few family-centric ones, including Uber accounts for teens and car seat requests in select cities. 

It's no secret that, regardless of skill level, women's sports are broadcast and funded a whole lot less than men's sports. While serious structural shifts are needed to rectify this, small changes are always welcome. In that vein, Roku is launching the Women's Sports Zone, a hub for accessing live matches, alongside content like documentaries and movies that focus on women's sports, all in one place. The streaming platform credits a general spike in interest toward watching women's sports as responsible for the move. 

Roku users can access the Women's Sports Zone in one of two ways, the first being by searching directly for "women's sports" or the name of a team or a league. Otherwise, users on the TV or mobile app can scroll to the sports section to find it. On the TV, the zone will pop up under the "Browse by Sport" category — yes, implying women's sports are one entity versus being just as multifaceted as men's sports, again, small changes. Once inside the zone, there's a breakdown of current games streaming live and upcoming matches with their dates listed. 

The hub's launch is neatly timed to the WNBA season's imminent start, with live broadcasts currently including professional and collegiate basketball, soccer and golf. Supporting channels are responsible for providing each offering, and, according to Roku, additional content will be available in "the coming months."
