The best Black Friday 2022 subscription and digital subscription deals we could find

Subscriptions and memberships make excellent gifts, but they're also great to give yourself — especially when they're on sale for Black Friday. We found a slew of services running discounts, with deals on streaming services, learning programs, fitness and mental health apps, gaming memberships and a few more. Most sales end by Cyber Monday, so right now is a good time to try out something new or sign back up for a subscription you've let lapse, saving some money in the process. Black Friday sales aren't just for stuff you can wrap, and these are the best subscription deals we could find.

Hulu

Hulu

Options for streaming services continue to grow, and the costs adds up. If you've been thinking about checking out Hulu but didn't want to add another $8 to your monthly bills, their Black Friday deal gets you an entire year for less than $25. Billed at $2 monthly for the next 12 months, the ad-supported version gets you access to all the shows and movies Hulu offers, like ABC's Abbott Elementary and FX's The Bear, along with Hulu originals like Reboot and Only Murders in the Building. The offer ends on Cyber Monday (11/28) and is available to new subscribers and former subscribers who haven't had a Hulu subscription within the past month.

Subscribe to Hulu (with ads) for $2 per month

Disney+

Disney

Disney+ will switch to a two-tier model on December 8th. After that, the ad-free version, which is the only way the service is currently offered, will increase to $11 per month instead of $8. The new ad-supported plan will then go for $8. If you want to hang on to that $8 per month price for an ad-free plan, you can sign up before December 7th and pay $80 for a year of ad-free streaming. That works out to a 39 percent discount over the elevated $11 per month plan. If you didn't already know, Disney+ includes a dominating trove of content from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and National Geographic.

Subscribe to a year of Disney+ (ad-free) for $80

YouTube TV

YouTube TV

Switching to an all-streaming diet often means forgoing live TV and other content cable offers. YouTube TV is one way to get back some of the live sports, live news and "cable channels" you're missing. YouTube's limited time offer gives you your first three months for $55 per month, with no contract required. If you decide you like what you're seeing, don't cancel and the price will revert to the regular $65 per month.

Subscribe to 3 months of YouTube TV for $55 per month

Peacock

Peacock

At this point, Peacock is almost a required subscription for fans of Premier League soccer, Sunday night football or WWE. But there's plenty of non-sports fare too, including NBC shows the day after they air and a catalogue of Universal movies like Nope, the new Jurassic World, and Brian and Charles — titles that stream exclusively on the service. Right now you can get 12 months of Peacock Premium for just $1 per month. After navigating to the site, enter the code SAVEBIG in the promo box to activate the offer. It's only available to new subscribers and probably won't last long after the weekend of Black Friday.

Subscribe to Peacock Premium for $1 per month

HBO Max

HBO

There's no way to declare a clear winner in the best original content war, but HBO is a serious contender. You could even say it's responsible for launching this whole "prestige TV" thing twenty years ago with The Wire and The Sopranos, but we digress. Right now HBO Max is offering three months of its ad-supported service for $2 per month. After that, it'll jump back up to $10 per month if you want to keep watching, and there's plenty to watch, including Insecure, Succession and all the Studio Ghibli movies. The offer ends on Cyber Monday (11/28) and only extends to new or returning subscribers.

Alo Moves

Alo Moves

You can watch on your laptop or via app on an iPhone or iPad. Yoga, pilates, HIIT, and core classes are available, along with meditation and mindfulness sessions, including a power nap sound bath.

Masterclass

MasterClass

Annie Leibovitz teaching you photography, Serena Williams teaching you tennis and Walter Mosley teaching you fiction is the idea behind (and three actual classes of) Masterclass. Memberships are annual and include access to all 180 classes they offer. Right now when you buy any membership plan, which range from $180 to $276 per year, you'll get a second free membership to give away. Naming the classes feels a lot like name dropping, with classes from Martin Scorsese, Usher, Carlos Santana, Questlove, Alice Waters, David Lynch and 100 other people you've heard of. Classes range from a little over two hours to five-plus hours and are broken into between 12 and 30 lessons each.

Evernote

Evernote

The yearly price is usually $110, and the discount brings that total down to $82.50. New subscribers and people currently on the free plan are eligible for the deal, which runs through Wednesday, November 30th. If you aren't already familiar, the browser- and app-based software helps you apply structure to your notes, to-dos, schedules and projects, allowing you to better TCOB, both at home and work or the blurry blend of the two many live in today.

Subscribe to Evernote Professional - $8.25 per month

Rosetta Stone

Rosetta Stone

Like Masterclass above, this Rosetta Stone membership doesn't make you decide what you want to learn up front. And instead of a yearly membership, this one is for life. The usual price for a lifetime membership is $300, but is half price for the Black Friday deal. With it, you get access to all 25 languages Rosetta Stone offers, complete with customizable lesson plans and immersion learning methods. The deal runs from now through Friday, December 2nd.

Adobe

Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps includes more than 20 apps, including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator and InDesign. Right now Adobe's Black Friday sale takes 25 percent off the monthly price for your entire first year. That brings the price down from its usual $55 per month to just $40 per month. It's a pretty good deal for a hard-to-replace suite of software, especially when you remember a time when a static, un-upgradable Photoshop by itself would set you back $800.

Subscribe to Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps - $40 per month

PlayStation Plus

PlayStation

To get the most out of that PS5 you'll probably want a PlayStation Plus subscription, as it's the only way you'll be able to play online multiplayer games. That makes the Essential Plan $45, the Extra Plan $75, and the Premium Plan $80 for the year. The best Black Friday deals on Bluetooth speakers for 2022

Black Friday deals have proven to be a boon for anyone looking for a new portable speaker. Many of our top picks from our Bluetooth speaker guide have dropped to impressive lows, including the Wonderboom 3, Sonos’ Roam SL and a number of JBL devices. Whether you want something super compact to take with you on roadtrips, or a water-resistant speaker to keep poolside, you’ll likely be able to find one that fits your needs on sale today. Here are the best Bluetooth speaker deals we found for Black Friday 2022.

Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3

Engadget

In true tiny-but-mighty fashion, the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 takes up a small amount of space, but delivered the biggest sound in its size category of the speakers we tested. Usually $100, Black Friday is knocking off $20 to bring it down to $80. That's a pretty good price for a speaker with 14 hours of battery life and a submergible waterproof rating.

Buy Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 at Amazon - $80

JBL Flip 6

Engadget

Delivering great sound in a package that can stand upright or lay on its side, the JBL Flip 6 usually runs for $130, but right now is seeing a lowest-ever price of $90. The Flip 6 is drop-resistant, waterproof and lasts for 12 hours on a charge. It'll even connect up with other JBL Party-Boost speakers for stereo sound, not just other Flips.

Buy JBL Flip 6 at Amazon - $90

JBL Charge 5

Engadget

A little larger in both size and sound than the Flip, JBL's Charge 5 is usually $180 but is down to $120 for Black Friday. It has a separate tweeter, and dual bass radiators for bigger sound and of course can handle a dunk in water. It's got a long 20 hours of battery life and can even share some of that juice with your devices thanks to the USB-C port.

Buy JBL Charge 5 at JBL - $120Buy JBL Charge 5 at Amazon - $120

Monoprice Soundstage3

Engadget

While its not meant to take on the road, the Monoprice Soundstage 3 is an excellent pick for at-home listening. Usually $250, the sale brings it down to $180 right now. We like its minimalist design and clear, balanced sound. It gets 10 hours of play on a charge, but also has plenty of hard-wire ports if its staying in one place.

Buy Monoprice SoundStage 3 at Monoprice - $180

Bose SoundLink Revolve II

Bose

Bose SoundLink Revolve II is great for bringing your music outside and we found it had a loud and bright sound that carries nicely through the out of doors. It pumps out 360-degree sound and gets 13 hours of play on a charge. It's usually $220 but is down to $180 right now. We also tried out the Bose Portable Smart Speaker and found it had an even better low end than the Revolve II. That speaker usually goes for $400, but is $50 off for Black Friday.

Buy Bose SoundLink Revolve II at Bose - $180Buy Bose Portable Smart Speaker at Amazon - $350

JBL Xtreme 3

Engadget

So big it needs a strap, the JBL Xtreme 3 made our list thanks to its pleasant dynamic sound and the big bass, which does fine outdoors, but really bumps when it has walls to bounce off of. It's usually $380 but is seeing an impressive 39 percent discount to bring it down to $230. Waterproof and dustproof, it'll give you 15 hours of play on a charge.

Buy JBL Xtreme 3 at Amazon - $230

Sonos Roam SL

Engadget

Sonos devices don't go on sale often, and when they do it's a good time to act. Right now the Sonos Roam SL is down from its usual $160 to a low of $127. It'll hook up via WiFi or Bluetooth and swaps easily between the two. Waterproof and drop-resistant, the Roam gets 10 hours of play on a charge.

Buy Sonos Roam SL at Sonos - $127

Marshall Acton II

Marshall

Marshall is another brand that likes to put a limit on their sale prices, so finding this Marshall Acton II on sale is a good sign to move on it. The compact speaker delivers big sound with three amps, dual tweeters and a big subwoofer. Usually $280, it's down to $150 for Black Friday.

Buy Marshall Acton II at Marshall - $150

Tribit StormBox Micro 2

The price on the Tribit StormBox Micro 2 is decent at its usual $60, but Black Friday brings that down to $51. We like that it's ultra portable but capable of kicking out decent volume.

The best Black Friday robot vacuum and smart home deals

Going from zero to a fully outfitted smart home is a huge undertaking — and it can get expensive fast. While we don't recommend grabbing every possible smart home device in one go, Black Friday makes smartening up areas of your home a lot easier on your wallet.

Every year, the number of smart devices grows so we waded through the best deals on many of the products we've tried and recommend. Some of our favorite robot vacuums are seeing steep discounts, as is our favorite air fryer and an Echo smart display we found particularly useful. Covering just about every potential room in the home, here are the best robot vacuum and smart home Black Friday deals we could find.

iRobot Roomba 694

Valentina Palladino / Engadget

The iRobot Roomba 694 is currently our favorite budget robot vacuum and is down to $180 for Black Friday. That's 33 percent off for a $95 savings that's close to an all-time low. We liked the way the 694 dependably cleaned both carpet and tile, and appreciated the excellent user interface on the app. Setup is straightforward, even for a robo vac newbie. It doesn't come with extra brushes and the spot-clean function is only available as a button on the unit itself, but we still think it's the best budget vac for most people.

Buy iRobot Roomba 694 at Amazon - $179

Shark Ion RV765

Shark

The Shark Ion RV765 is the runner up in our guide to budget robo vacs and right now it's down to $150, which is a super low price for any smart vacuum, especially one with a two-hour battery life. We particularly liked the adjustable wheels that automatically reacted to the "terrain" of carpet, rug, or hard floor, and the intuitive app for setting schedules and otherwise controlling the robot.

Buy Shark Ion RV765 at Walmart - $150

Shark AV2511AE AI

Shark

If you want a robot vacuum that empties itself, be prepared to pay more, unless you can grab a deal like this one. Normally $600, the Shark AV2511 AE AI robot vacuum is half price right now, bringing it down to $300. As a brand, Shark keeps reaching top spots in our robot vacuum guides thanks to their intuitive app and reliability of the robots themselves. This base here will hold nearly two months of dirt and the advanced navigation technology uses LIDAR to map your home and lasers to detect and avoid obstacles. You can even set no-go zones from within the app, as opposed to using boundary tape or other methods.

Buy Shark AV2511AE at Amazon - $300

iRobot Roomba j7

iRobot

The iRobot Roomba j7 is also on sale, with a 42 percent discount, bringing it down to $250. It's the runner up in our latest guide to the best robot vacuums thanks to its strong cleaning power and accurate home mapping. We liked how easy the app is to use and program and the bot was great at avoiding obstacles, including any robot vac's archnemesis, pet poop.

Buy iRobot Roomba j7 at Amazon - $349

Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid

Eufy

With a more than 50 percent discount, Eufy's RoboVac X8 Hybrid is down to $320 off its usual $650 sticker. We gave the X8 a shout out in our robo vac guide for its great customization features, including a "tap and go" option that lets you direct the vac to a particular spot for extra on-demand cleaning. Surprisingly, many vacs lack that feature within their app. As a hybrid vac, the X8 can wet-wipe your floors as well as vacuum them, and comes with a fillable tank and swappable cleaning pads to enable the mopping function. If you don't need your vac to mop, the vacuum-only Eufy RoboVac X8 is on sale for 40 percent off, making it just $300 instead of $500 right now.

Buy Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid at Amazon - $320

Meater Plus

Meater

The Meater Plus is the recommended thermometer in our grilling gear guide. For Black Friday, it's down to $80 from its usual $100 price tag. While a wired version is certainly cheaper, we thought the price bump was worth not having to avoid the cables as you work with larger pieces of meat. It's got a 165-foot Bluetooth range and the single probe has two sensors, with one end reading the internal temp of your meat and the exposed end monitoring the ambient temp of your cooking environment. Of course, as a smart home tool, the companion app controls, monitors and offers helpful guides.

Buy Meater Plus at Amazon - $80

Instant Pot Duo

Instant Pot

The Instant Pot Duo makes an excellent gift for just about anyone, but it's also a great way to add some extra capacity to your kitchen for holiday cooking. Right now, it's down to $79 for Black Friday, a 21 percent discount and a great buy, considering all it can do. It features seven functions in one unit, and can act as a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, sauté pan, yogurt maker and warmer. Customizable programs take the guesswork out of cooking common items, helping you out just like a smart appliance should.

Buy Instant Pot Duo at Amazon - $79

Instant Vortex Plus

Instant Brands

If you somehow don't already have one or are looking to give one of this year's best gifts, here's a great deal on the Instant Vortex Plus air fryer. Usually $170, it's down to just $100 for Black Friday. We named it our favorite overall pick when we tested out many of the air fryers on the market today. We loved the ample size, intuitive controls and how easy it was to clean. Plus, there's virtually no waiting for pre-heating.

Buy Instant Vortex Plus at Amazon - $100

Echo Show 8

Engadget

The Echo Show 8 earned a score of 87 when we reviewed it upon its debut and Amazon is knocking 46 percent off the standard $130 list price to make it just $70. We liked the beautiful touchscreen display and impressive sound quality for the size. It's extra useful when it acts as a sort of command center for your connected smart home devices, with Alexa's helpful AI guiding the way. Amazon's new home screen has a better feel to it too, giving you a lot of info at a glance. The Echo Show 8 can even act as a smart cam to let you check in at home when you're away.

Buy Echo Show 8 at Amazon - $70

Google Nest Hub

Google

If you'd rather rely on the Google Assistant for your smart display needs, the latest generation of the Google Nest Hub is half price, bringing it down to $50. The seven-inch screen is one inch smaller than the Echo Show 8, and the Google Hub doesn't have an on-board camera, which some might prefer. As a smart display, it'll happily act as a hub to control compatible smart home devices using just your voice.

Buy Google Nest Hub at B&H Photo - $50

Google Nest Audio

Nathan Ingraham / Engadget

We called Google's Nest Audio smart speaker "a steal at $100" when we reviewed it, giving it a score of 87. And now it's half that price for Black Friday. For just $50, you get a smart speaker powered by the AI of the Google Assistant, plus a speaker that delivers surprisingly good sound quality for its size and price point. We did note that the Nest Audio sounds even better as a pair, and now might be a good time to grab two.

Buy Google Nest Audio at B&H Photo - $50

Blink Mini camera

Amazon

Adding a few smart cameras to your smart home setup lets you keep tabs on things when you're gone (or even in another room) and can alert you when there's unexpected movement. Blink Mini cameras are usually $35 each, but right now Amazon is selling two for less than the price of one. On the same product page, you'll notice a one-camera configuration option, that's $30, so this really is a case where it's a better deal to get two. The Minis are motion-activated devices (as, in they aren't always on)and have built-in speakers and a mic so you can hear and talk to people (or pets) remotely using your phone.

Buy Blink Mini camera 2-pack at Amazon - $30

Google Nest Cam

Google

Again, if you prefer talking to Google's Assistant over Amazon's Alexa, the Google Nest Cam battery is your best bet for indoor and outdoor monitoring. While they usually go for $180, Black Friday takes $60 off that price to make them $120 each. Unlike the wired and indoor-only Blink Minis above, these run on batteries and are rated to handle the weather outside, but they're quite a bit more expensive. They send high def 1080p video to your phone or smart display when they're triggered and are smart enough to tell the difference between pets, cars and people.

Buy Google Nest Cam at B&H Photo - $120

Google Nest Doorbell

Google

To keep tabs on package deliveries and other interesting goings on at your front door, a video doorbell works great. Again, if you're invested in Google's ecosystem, you'll want Google's Nest Doorbell. The Google Nest Doorbell battery runs on a rechargeable battery and is $120 for Black Friday, after a 33 percent discount. The Google Nest Doorbell wired version uses your existing doorbell wire and is on sale for $169 against its usual $180 list price.

Buy Google Nest Doorbell (battery) at Amazon - $120

Ring Video Doorbell

Ring

For an Amazon doorbell, you have two brand options, Blink and Ring. Right now the Ring Video Doorbell is 40 percent off, making it just $60. It records 1080p video after being triggered and sends alerts and feeds to your phone or other display (like a Fire TV or Echo Show). You don't have to decide when you buy whether you want to wire it in or run it on the included battery, this unit is capable of both.

Buy Ring Video Doorbell at Amazon - $60

Amazon Smart Plug

Amazon

A smart plug means you'll never have to come home to a dark room again. The Amazon Smart Plug is just $13 right now, instead of its usual $25. You can speak commands to Alexa to control whatever you plug in, like lamps, fans and holiday lights. Or you can also set up routines and schedules from within the Alexa app. It can even be used to start your coffee maker in the morning (as long as it has a mechanical switch), just remember to add your beans and water the night before.

Smart thermostats can help you save energy by making sure you're not overly heating or cooling an empty house. The Amazon Smart Thermostat is $18 off for Black Friday, bringing the price down to $42. You can use the Alexa app to control the thermostat, sets schedules and more, but keep in mind the thermostat itself doesn't have a mic, so it can't take voice commands directly.

Eero Pro 6E WiFi mesh router

Amazon

To handle all of this smart home connectivity, you might be in the market for an upgraded WiFi router. The Eero Pro 6E supports WiFi 6E, which lets compatible devices access the newly opened up 6 GHz wireless band. it's $120 off its usual $300 sticker price, which makes this a good time to upgrade to the latest and fastest WiFi iteration. The best Black Friday tech deals under $50

The giant TVs and high-end laptops might get the lion's share of attention on Black Friday, but the smaller tech devices are worth checking out too. We put the cap at $50 and came up with over 20 deals on inexpensive gadgets along with a few peripherals and accessories you'll need for this year's higher-end buys. Some gadgets are going for all-time lows, like the new Echo Dot. Others, like the Google Nest Mini and the Roku Streaming Stick 4K are half off their usual price. We added a few storage cards that are seeing big price cuts too, since you can never have too many of those. For less than $50, there's a lot of great tech out there, and here are the best Black Friday deals we could find.

Amazon Echo Dot

Amazon

When Amazon's Echo Dot first unveiled its new spherical shape in 2020, we tried it out and thought it was a well-rounded speaker in all senses of the word, awarding it a score of 88. Right now it 50 percent off, putting Amazon's smallest smart speaker down to just $25, which is the lowest it's gone since its release. The speaker has the full power of Alexa behind it, letting you control your music, lights, thermostats and more with your voice. The Echo Dot even acts as a WiFi extender, adding up to 1,000 square feet of extra coverage, if you use the brand's Eero WiFi routers.

Buy Echo Dot at Amazon - $25

Google Nest Mini

If you prefer dealing with the Google Assistant over Alexa, the Google Nest Mini is a good way to go. Right now the smart speakers are just $20 each, which is nearly 60 percent off the usual $49 price tag. Like the Echo Dot, the Nest Mini is a small, round and unobtrusive device that pumps out music and podcasts on demand from a slew of apps (Apple Music, YouTube Music and Spotify among them). You can use it to control other members of your smart home domain, like your Chromecast TV or your Nest Thermostat, and it does a good job pairing up with third party smart home devices too, such as lightbulbs and alarms.

SanDisk 256GB Ultra microSD

Usually $49, Black Friday brings the price of a SanDisk 256GB Ultra microSD down to just $22, which is a steep 55 percent off and the lowest we've ever seen it. If you've got a 4K screen and you've already upgraded to WiFi 6, you'll likely want the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. Its down to $35 from its usual $55 price tag, which matches its price during Prime Day in October. In addition to delivering super high def images, it's also designed to work with the latest WiFi network protocol. If you're getting it as a gift and aren't sure if your giftee has WiFi 6, it'll still work with earlier versions as well. It does everything the other Fire TV sticks do, including turning your TV into a screen for displaying feeds from other Alexa devices like doorbells and cameras.

Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite

Amazon

For anyone who doesn't need 4K resolution or WiFi 6 support, the Fire TV Stick Lite is a notably cheap way to convert a screen into a smart TV. It's just $15 for Black Friday, down from its usual $30. Just keep in mind, while the bargain version of the Fire TV Stick does offer Alexa's voice assistance, it can't control the power or volume functions for your set. If you plan on using your TV's original remote, then that limitation probably isn't a concern.

Blink Video Doorbell

Amazon

Amazon acquired the home monitoring camera company Blink back in 2017 and added its first doorbell just last year. The Blink Video Doorbell is the least expensive doorbell in Amazon's lineup, and right now is down to $35 from its usual price of $50. You can use it wired to your existing doorbell wiring or run the unit on two AA batteries. Your first set of batteries is included and can last up to two years. The unit wakes up with a doorbell press or when it detects motion, enabling two-way talk. Wiring the unit allows it to activate your built-in doorbell chime. On batteries, you'll get alerts when someone rings via the Blink app.

Amazon Fire 7 tablet

Amazon

Already among the cheapest tablets on the market, the Amazon Fire 7 tablet is down to $40 with a 33 percent discount off of its $50 MSRP. While it's not going to handle intense multitasking or become your go-to productivity slab, it'll handle casual couch surfing, e-books and streaming your shows. This is the 2022 version of the 7-inch screen, which improves the battery life over the previous model, giving you up to 10 hours of use on a charge.

Roku Streaming Stick 4K

Roku

Right now the Roku Streaming Stick 4K is half price. At just $25, it matches the price of Amazon's 4K stick, and it's our current favorite streaming device. With the Roku stick, voice control is handled by your choice of Siri, the Google Assistant or Alexa, and the Roku interface is straightforward with the widest selection of streaming options. We're also fond of the Roku app, which allows for private listening, which means you can watch a show on the big screen, but have the audio come through your smartphone-connected headphones. The universal search function is also accurate and refreshingly impartial, not prioritizing any one streaming service when you search for shows and movies.

Amazon Echo Show 5

Amazon

Imagine your bedside alarm clock and a smart display combined forces. That's the idea behind Amazon's Echo Show 5. It usually goes for $85, but right now it's been cut by a substantial 59 percent to make it just $35. As the smallest of Amazon's smart displays, it'll fit nicely into small spaces, like small kitchens or a bedside table. And if you're concerned with the potential creep factor of bringing a camera into the bedroom, there's a physical camera shutter built-in. We gave the Echo Show 5 a score of 85 in our review, impressed with the quality of sound for its compact size.

Blink Mini security camera

Amazon

The Blink Mini security cameras usually retail for $35 each, but the Black Friday sale brings the price of two cameras down to $30. It's a great time to snag one of these sleek in-home cams for every corner of the house, especially if you're planning on adding an Echo Show (like the one above) to your smart home landscape. The Blink cameras plug in so you never have to swap the batteries, they offer night vision capabilities and two-way audio.

Anker 511 power bank

Will Lipman Photography for Engadget

Having the ability to recharge a dead phone when you're far from an outlet feels priceless, but Black Friday puts that price at $25 for Anker's 511 Power Bank. The compact rectangular prism shape has a retractable plug and short strap to make it easy to store and retrieve from a pack. It's a 5,000 milliampere hour battery, which should give most modern smartphones one extra charge. Note that it doesn't come with a cable. You'll need to supply one with two USB-C connectors or a USB-C-to-lightning cable, depending on the model of your phone. Also, this price on Amazon is only for Prime members, but it's too great a deal not to mention.

Anker 511 charger

Anker

Not all chargers are created equal. Since Apple stopped shipping chargers with their phones, some people learn this when they notice their phones charging unusually slow with lower-power plug. The Anker 511 charger is a 20-watt charger that can deliver full-speed charging to a smartphone and are specifically designed to work with Apple devices. Right now it's on sale for just $13. Anker's tests showed late-model iPhones going from zero to 50 percent in 25 minutes. It's got a USB-C port, for which you'll need to supply your own charging cable.

Logitech G435 gaming headset

Logitech

Logitech's G435 gaming headset typically goes for $80, but Black Friday brings it below the $50 threshold at $49.88. They connect via Bluetooth or with the USB-A dongle for a lower-latency wireless connection. The built-in mics allow for in-game chat and post-game Discord discussions. They'll pair up with a PC and both PlayStation 4 and 5 using the wireless dongle, or via Bluetooth with PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch. You can pair them with your phone too, but keep in mind these don't have active noise cancellation.

Jabra Elite 3 earbuds

Billy Steele/Engadget

We were impressed with the Jabra Elite 3 earbuds at their list $80 list price, giving them an 88 in our review. Now that they've just dipped below $50, it's a good day to get a pair. We called them the "new standard for affordable wireless earbuds" because they offer detailed and balanced sound with a booming low end. We got right around the estimated seven-hour battery life and liked Jabra's comfortable new design for the Elite 3 buds. We think they're an incredible value for the price, especially right now.

Chromecast with Google TV

Google

Like the Fire TV and Roku sticks above, the Chromecast with Google TV HD turns a "dumb" TV into a smart one, and right now it's just $20 for Black Friday. When the latest HD model came out this October, we tested it out and liked the straightforward setup and easy interface. Unlike the Fire TV Lite, the Chromecast remote can be programmed to handle TV functions like volume and power. If you've got a 4K TV, the Chromecast with Google TV 4K dongle is on sale for $40, down from $50. We reviewed it when it first came out and gave it a score of 86, particularly impressed with the Google Assistant integration.

Usually retailing for $80, the JBL Clip 4 is just $45 right now. The Clip 4 is a portable Bluetooth speaker that can handle life away from the relative safety of home. It's rated IP67, which means it's dust-tight and can handle full, but temporary, submersion in water. Amazon Smart Thermostat

Amazon

Amazon continues to expand their smart home offerings, anchored by Alexa's increasingly sophisticated AI. The Amazon Smart Thermostat is already one of the more affordable smart thermostats out there with a usual list price of $60. Right now it's $42 for Black Friday. This model doesn't come with a C-wire adapter, so you'll want to check the pop-up compatibility window on the product page to make sure your system will work with the device. If it does, you'll get an app-controlled thermostat that can potentially save on energy usage.

Razer Kishi mobile controller

Razer

Razer's Kishi mobile controller turns your smartphone into a Switch-like gaming device. It's usually $100, but Black Friday is knocking 55 percent off the list price, bringing the sticker to $41.50 for the Android version and $45 for the iPhone version. It connects via your phone's charging port, as opposed to via Bluetooth, so there's no wireless latency. Note that this is the original version of the device, not the recently released V2. That version isn't budging from its $99 MSRP, even for Black Friday.

Razer Orochi gaming mouse

Razer

The Razer Orochi gaming mouse has an MSRP of $70, but Black Friday is knocking that down by half. This mobile mouse made the cut in our search for the ultimate productivity mouse. Even though we called it the most "forgettable-looking option," we were impressed by how lightweight and capable it is. It connects via Bluetooth or wireless dongle and runs on ether an AA or AAA battery, with up to 950 hours on a battery.

Regardless of what item you attach it to, the Tile app makes sure that item never goes missing. Using Bluetooth when it's within 400 feet, you can make the Tile Pro ring to find things that way. When an item is farther away, the Tile app uses the Tile network to locate the item by anonymously pinging the phones of other Tile users.

The best Black Friday Apple deals on iPads, MacBooks, AirPods and more

When it comes to aesthetics, innovation and user-friendly interfaces — not to mention pure desirability — Apple's a tough act to beat. But Apple devices aren't cheap. Black Friday deals have made many of the brand's best and most recent products much more affordable, and many of these discounts happen to be the lowest we've seen yet. We've sifted through what's out there (and it's a lot) to find the best prices on the latest tech from the folks in Cupertino. Anyone looking to get or gift Apple Watches, AirPods, iPads, and more, these are the deals to go for. Here are the best Black Friday deals on Apple devices.

AirPods Pro

Released just a few months ago, the AirPods Pro are the second generation of Apple's premium ear buds and deliver a massively improved sound quality with excellent noice cancellation. Amazon has them for just $200, which is $50 less than we saw it for during Prime Day back in October. Our reviewer and audio expert Billy Steele gave them an 88 in a hands-on review, saying they have "the best transparency mode you’ll find on earbuds."

Buy AirPods Pro (2nd gen) at Amazon - $200

AirPods

The third generation of Apple's AirPods are $30 off for Black Friday, bringing them down to $140. They scored an 88 in our review, earning high marks for a comfortable fit, massively improved audio and more than six hours of battery life on their own and 30 hours with the case. They don't have active noise cancellation (ANC), for that feature, grab the Pros up above. If you want the previous generation of AirPods, those are going for $79 right now.

Buy AirPods (3rd gen) at Amazon - $140Buy AirPods (2nd gen) at Amazon - $79

AirPods Max

Released about two years ago, Apple's AirPods Max, the company's premium (and only) over-ear headphones have gone up and down in price, but this deal is a near-best at $449. With an Engadget review of 84, AirPods Max pair up a sleek design with solid noise cancellation and on-board controls that are a joy to use. At their usual MSRP of $549, they aren't cheap, which makes this Black Friday deal a very attractive buy.

Apple Watch Ultra

Cherlynn Low / Engadget

We gave the Apple Watch Ultra, Apple's latest and most premium watch, a solid 85 in our review. If you've had your eye on the toughest wearable Apple's ever made, grab it now. Amazon has it for just $739, which is 8 percent off and the lowest it's been since its debut. When we took it on a hike, we had to admire its monster (yet comfortable) build and slew of outdoor-focused features, including a customizable Action button and on-board SOS siren. Of course you also get all of the health and fitness tracking Apple Watches are known for, plus a full three days of battery life on a charge.

Buy Apple Watch Ultra at Amazon - $739

Apple Watch Series 8

The Apple Watch Series 8 came out just one week before the Ultra, making it the latest non-top-tier Apple Watch, and it usually sells for $389. Black Friday has brought that price down to $349, which means you save $50 on a premium smartwatch that's only a couple months old. In our real world test we called it "superb watch that makes a great multipurpose wearable with excellent health and fitness tools." While it doesn't have the hype of the new Ultra, or the budget appeal of the SE, it's still the best smartwatch around.

Buy Apple Watch Series 8 at Amazon - $349

Apple Watch SE

Cherlynn Low / Engadget

In our review back in September, we called the new Apple Watch SE "the best smart watch $250 can buy," awarding it a score of 89. Now that the pre-holiday sale has dropped the price down to $229, Apple's most affordable smartwatch is an even better buy. While the battery doesn't have the same longevity as its Apple Watch siblings, we found it lasted until midnight even with heavy use, and never took more than an hour to refill. We liked its crisp display and snappy responsiveness and found that the health and fitness tracking were on par with the more expensive Series 8.

AirTag (4 pack)

Chris Velazco/Engadget

Apple's Bluetooth trackers come in one shape and size: small and round. But the amount of accessories made to hold them has reached dizzying heights. They make great stocking stuffers for anyone with a penchant for losing stuff and right now a four-pack of AirTags is going for $80. That's the lowest price the pack has seen, making each tag $20 each, against their usual $28-per-piece price. They pair up with the Find My app on your iPhone and you can even digitally label each AirTag.

Apple TV 4K (2022)

Devindra Hardawar/Engadget

Apple TV 4K, the brand's third generation set-top streaming device just came out in October and is down to $124 for Black Friday. It got an enthusiastic score of 94 in our review earning high marks for its zippy speeds, polished interface and glorious picture quality. If you've been thinking about upgrading your existing TV or if you want to turn any display with an HDMI port into a powerful streaming device, this is a the time to snap this up.

2022 iPad

Nathan Ingraham / Engadget

Apple's 2022 standard-model iPad is the 10th generation of the multipurpose slate, earning an 85 in our review back in October. We were concerned at the price hike over the previous generation, which brought it to a steep $449. But now that it's going for $426, it's a little bit easier to add the base model iPad to your life (or someone else's). What we did like was the complete redesign, the solid 10-plus hours of battery, and the addition of a landscape-oriented front-facing camera. Note that the iPad standard only works with the first generation of the Apple Pencil. For iPads that work with the second-gen pencil, go with the Pro or Air below.

iPad Pro

Nathan Ingraham / Engadget

The latest iPad Pro earned an 87 in our review for its fast and powerful M2 chip and having "one of the best screens Apple has ever made." At the $800 list price, it's steep. But right now Amazon has the premium slate for $40 off the 11-inch and $100 off most storage sizes of the 12.9-inch. Both came out in October of this year, and this is the biggest discount we've seen so far. That's a good opportunity to get one of the best designed tablets on the market, complete with a nine-hour battery life and second-gen Apple Pencil support.

iPad Air

Nathan Ingraham / Engadget

While it might be the lightest of the iPad lineup, the latest iPad Air is curiously performed just as nimbly as the Pro in our tests. It earned a 90 score, with our reviewer and Apple expert Nathan Ingraham calling it "the best iPad for most people." It runs on Apple's zippy M1 chip, which combined with the 5G connectivity option, effectively future-proofs the slate. We got two hours more than the promised 10-hour battery life in our tests and were impressed by the fast speed and lovely screen. For Black Friday, you can pick it up for $500 thanks to a discount and a coupon that will be applied at checkout.

iPad Mini

Valentina Palladino / Engadget

If an eight-inch iPad is more your speed, Black Friday has knocked $100 off the price of the latest iPad Mini. We gave it an 89 in our review, impressed with the complete design overhaul the latest Mini received. It's got a great new Liquid Retina display with bezels that are the perfect size for carrying the (ultraportable) tablet around or using the Mini as an e-Reader. Overall, we're calling this "the best small tablet out there." And now the price is even smaller.

Buy iPad Mini (6th gen) at Amazon - $400

MacBook Air M2

Devindra Hardawar/Engadget

Apple's MacBook Air M2 earned an enthusiastic review score of 96 back in July. Right now it's 13 percent off, bringing it down to $1,049. Our senior editor and computer expert Devindra Hardawar said this version of the MacBook Air "set a new standard for ultraportables." You get the blazing fast M2 chip and an expansive and engrossing screen, all tucked into a frankly gorgeous, razor-thin computer. One of the only downsides we noted was the high price, but Black Friday is fixing that for now.

If you want to save even more and aren't worried about having the latest model, the MacBook Air with the M1 chip is on sale for just $799. We gave it an 87 in our review, calling it a the MacBook for most people, especially those looking for a casual computer.

The best Black Friday Amazon deals on Kindles, Echo speakers, Fire TV devices and more

Now that Amazon has not one but two Prime Days per year, you might think they'd run out of deals. Not so. The world's largest retailer has plenty of deals to go around for Black Friday, including these discounts on their own devices. And for this sale, you don't even have to be a Prime member to snag the savings.

Amazon makes a slew of its own hardware, including Echo smart speakers, Fire tablets and Kindles. Most come with the ever-improving and evolving smart AI assistant Alexa, giving you the option of unifying your smart home and controlling it just by talking. Lots of these deals match or even beat Prime Day prices, so it's a great time to buy if you want to give the gift of a Kindle or ring in the new year with an Alexa-enabled Echo Show display. Here are the best deals on Amazon devices we could find for Black Friday.

Echo

Nathan Ingraham / Engadget

Amazon has so many Echo options, it's hard to keep track. This is the original Echo, the very first smart speaker that brought Alexa into our homes to handle everything from setting timers and telling jokes to controlling our smart home universe. It's usually $100, but Black Friday knocks 50 percent off, making it just $50. This is the forth generation of the speaker, released in 2020 with a brand new spherical design aesthetic. We gave it a score of 89 in our review, handing out props for its excellent sound quality and Alexa's continually improving helpfulness. While the sound of one speaker was great, we did note that pairing up two Echos is where you really start to hear lush, room-filling sound. Now that they're half price, it's easier to pick up two of them.

Buy Echo (4th gen) at Amazon - $50

Echo Dot

Amazon

Like its name and appearance suggests, the Echo Dot is the smallest member of the Echo family, a speaker meant to unobtrusively bring Alexa's capabilities to more places in your home. Right now it's down to $25, which is 50 percent off its usual MSRP of $50 and a first-ever discount for this generation. Gen five was just released in October and includes an upgraded speaker, along with a temperature sensor that can pair up with your smart thermostat. In addition to being a speaker, the new Dot also acts as a mesh WiFi node, extending the range of your WiFi coverage by an extra 1,000 feet — provided you're using Amazon's Eero WiFi routers, which are discounted below.

Buy Echo Dot at Amazon - $25

Echo Studio

Echo Studio is a bigger and louder version of the Echo smart speaker, built to deliver hi-res audio. It's usually $200, and rarely goes on sale, but for Black Friday, it's $45 off the list price. We gave the Studio an 88 in our review, saying Amazon had finally nailed the audio element of its smart speaker lineup. With the larger build and speaker array, it's clear Amazon is trying to compete with other smart speaker manufacturers like Sonos and Bose. And it does a great job of it. Note that the Studio also makes a decent home theater option. This is the newest generation, released back in 2020, and Amazon has promised to continue to provide security and software updates for at least four years, even if they come out with a newer generation of the Studio.

Buy Echo Studio at Amazon - $155

Echo Show 5

Amazon

The Echo Show 5 is on sale for $35 for Black Friday, a steep, 59 percent discount from its usual $85 sticker. The "Show" series of Echo devices add a screen to the smart speaker setup, effectively creating a smart home hub and entertainment center in one. The Echo Show devices are numbered (5, 8, 10 and 15) to represent screen size, and the Show 5 is the smallest version. It's touchscreen measures 5.5 inches on the diagonal, and the relatively small footprint is ideal for studio apartments and nightstands (as long as you're cool with a camera in the bedroom). It can play TV shows and music, display your photos and make video calls. We reviewed this latest generation and gave it an 85, applauding the impressive sound quality for the size and the alarm clock like stature (and snooze button).

Buy Echo Show 5 at Amazon - $35

Echo Show 8

Engadget

Bumping up the size of the display, the Echo Show 8 gives a little more breathing room to the video it produces, and has two speakers instead of Show 5's one. Black Friday cuts the price down to $70, which is a full $60 off its usual $130 price tag. We gave the Show 8 an 87 in our review, remarking on the beautiful display and the quality video calls. Like the Show 5, you can watch shows and movies via Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu, and listen to music via Spotify and Amazon Music. The camera can serve as an indoor security cam, allowing you to get alerts about detected movement or peek in at home using the Alexa app on your phone.

Buy Echo Show 8 at Amazon - $70

Echo Show 10

Engadget

Going even bigger, the Echo Show 10 not only grants more space for your video, the tracking feature swivels to face you. Right now it's $170, which is a sizable, $80 chunk off of the usual $250 MSRP, especially considering this rarely goes on sale. Our Echo expert Nicole Lee noted in her review that the screen rotation feature is sorta creepy, but it does allow you to see whatever it is you just asked Alexa to display. Like its smaller siblings, the Show 10 can play movies and TV, music and audio books and make video calls, including video conferencing via Zoom. We were impressed by the 13 megapixel camera and thought that the audio quality was fantastic, thanks to dual front-firing tweeters and a powerful woofer.

Buy Echo Show 10 at Amazon - $170

Echo Show 15

Engadget

The Echo Show 15 is now just $170, which is $80 off its list price of $250. If you're thinking that a 15-inch display is bordering on TV territory, you're not wrong. Amazon announced at its fall hardware event this year that all Echo Show 15s would be upgraded to act as Fire TVs with a software update. Whereas the smaller Show models limited you to shows from Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu, a Fire TV interface means you can watch pretty much anything that streams. And it still delivers all the features of a smart display, with Alexa's assistance, video and security cam abilities, and smart display widgets. When we tested the smart display out, we liked the attractive, picture-frame like design and the bright and clear picture, which you can now use to watch more stuff.

Kindle

Amazon

While you can read e-books on a tablet or even your phone, it can be hard on your eyes, particularly if you read for a long time or spend the other part of your day staring at a comptuer screen. Using e-ink instead of an an LCD or OLED panel, e-readers are easier on your eyes. The Amazon Kindle is by far the most popular e-reader out there and right now it's $15 off for Black Friday. This is the eleventh generation of the original Kindle, released just this October. It's usually $100 for the ad-supported model and $120 if you don't want to see ads on your lockscreen. The latest edition has an upgraded 300 ppi (pixels per inch) display, which now puts it on par with the Paperwhite. It's the most compact of the Kindle family but has a 16 GB storage capacity that takes a long time to fill with regular e-books.

Kindle Paperwhite

Amazon

The Kindle Paperwhite brings a few upgrades to the standard model, with a flush-front design and IPX8 waterproof rating. Right now, the fifth and latest generation Paperwhite is $45 off. Released in late 2021, the Paperwhite hasn't seen many discounts outside of Prime Day events. It has a usual MSRP of $140 for the 8GB storage size with ads on the lockscreen, but Black Friday makes that configuration $95. Go for no ads and a larger 16GB storage capacity and the e-reader usually goes for $170, but is now $120. The 6.8-inch screen on the Paperwhite is a little larger than the 6-inch standard Kindle, and also comes with the option of a warm backlight, which isn't the same as no backlight, but still minimizes the amount of sleep-robbing blue light that hits your eyeballs.

Buy Kindle Paperwhite at Amazon - $95

Kindle Paperwhite Signature

Nathan Ingraham / Engadget

When we reviewed the Kindle Paperwhite Signature edition, we called it "the best e-reader. Period." In fact, the only complaint we had was the price. Black Friday has taken some of the sting out of the $190 price tag with a $60 discount bringing it down to $130. Unlike the other Kindles, the Signature edition doesn't have an ad-supported version, the upgraded price evidently enough to keep the marketing at bay. What it does have is wireless charging, 32GB of storage, automatically adjusting LED lighting (with warm light options) and a more responsive screen.

Kindle Oasis

Amazon

The most expensive model is the Kindle Oasis. It's usually $250 for the 8GB ad-supported version and $270 without lockscreen ads. Go for the 32GB models and you can add $30 to those prices. For Black Friday, Amazon has knocked a steep $95 off the list price. Unlike the other Kindles, the Oasis isn't wall-to-wall screen. Instead there's a large bezel at one landscape edge with physical buttons to turn the page, which some might remember from early-model Kindles. It also has the biggest screen at seven inches, along with the same 300 ppi screen and waterproof rating of the Paperwhite models.

With the ability to turn just about anything with an HDMI port into a smart TV, Amazon's Fire TV Stick 4K is well worth its $50 MSRP. It's even more worthwhile when it's $25 for Black Friday. If you've got a 4K TV or monitor, this is probably the version you want, as it supports 4K ultra HD, Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Plug in the HDMI dongle to your screen and use the Alexa remote to call up your favorite streaming apps, shows and movies.

Fire TV Stick 4K Max

Amazon

If you've upgraded your routers to support WiFi 6, you'll probably want to go with the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. While it usually goes for $55, right now it's down to $35. It has everything offered with 4K, with the added upgrade to the latest wireless local network standard. Like the 4K, the Max supports video with a 4K resolution to match your 4K TV and lets you control and view Alexa-enabled devices, like a Ring Doorbell, going so far as to offer a picture-in-picture features so you can see who's at the door without stopping your show.

Fire TV Stick

Amazon

If you don't need support for a 4K screen, the Fire TV Sick is an HD streaming dongle that will push 1080p images to your TV or monitor. The standard Fire TV Stick is half off for Black Friday, bringing it down to just $20. Alexa is built into the remote, so you can ask the assistant to help you find what to watch and the remote can also control your TV's power and volume. Fire TV Stick also supports Dolby Atmos audio for titles that have it, and assuming you have compatible home audio equipment.

Fire TV Stick Lite

Amazon

The most affordable option in the Stick lineup, the Fire TV Stick Lite supports 1080p viewing, and allows voice control via Alexa. Right now the usual $30 sticker has dropped to $15. The Lite brings you the same Fire TV interface on whichever screen you plug the dongle into, but the remote does not control your TVs volume or power buttons. If you use a separate remote for those functions anyway, then it's not an issue.

Fire TV Cube

Nicole Lee / Engadget

Amazon hasn't discounted the new Fire TV Cube, but the previous-generation is on sale for $60 for Black Friday, which is 50 percent off its usual price and a new record low. This set-top box supports 4K, HDR content with Dolby Vision and Atmos, plus hands-free Alexa commands. There is a newer version available now, which adds things like WiFi 6E capabilities, a speedier processor and additional HDMI and USB ports, but it'll cost you $140.

Echo Buds

Amazon

Amazon's only entry in the headphones market are the Echo Buds. This is the second and most recent generation that usually goes for $120 but right now they're $70 with a $50 discount. Like the premium buds these are competing with, Echo Buds have active noise cancellation that shuts out the world and a passthrough mode that lets it in. The buds plus the case will give you a 15-hour max listening time and of course, Alexa is baked right in.

Echo Frames

Brian Oh / Engadget

Will you enjoy having Alexa on your face? The Echo Frames are your opportunity to find out. They've got a $270 usual sticker sticker price, but right now they're $130 which is 52 percent off. These are the most recent, second generation and called them "surprisingly compelling" when we tried them out. We liked how comfortable a pair of glasses with speakers built in could be. It was also easier for Alexa to hear us to take commands. While they can play music, it doesn't sound very rich, so they're better for calls and notifications, though we did note that Amazon needs to work out some notification kinks.

Fire 7 tablet

Amazon

In the vast tablet marketplace, Amazon positions itself as the affordable option. The Fire 7 tablet is their best-selling (and lowest-priced) model with a regular retail of $60. This is the 2022 model, which we've already seen dip to $42 earlier this month, but for Black Friday, it's down to $40. That's incredibly cheap for a tablet, and like we noted in our review, this works best as a 7-inch screen for performing basics like internet browsing and watching videos. We also liked the addition of USB-C charging and the long battery life, along with Alexa's built-in utility.

Fire HD 8 tablet

Amazon

Like Echo Show displays, Fire Tablets are numbered to match their screen sizes, with an 8-inch screen on the Fire HD 8 tablet. This is the 2022 generation, which usually retails for $100, but Black Friday brings it down to $55, which is a solid 45 percent off. The Fire HD 8 comes with either 32 or 64GB of memory storage and a screen that hits that high-def, 720p resolution threshold (though not the "full HD" resolution of 1080p). You get up to 13 hours of battery life on a charge and of course, Alexa is there to handle all your assistant-based requests.

Fire HD 10 tablet

Amazon

The Fire HD 10 is the largest of the Fire tablets, in terms of screen size, RAM and storage. The 32GB model is usually $165 without lockscreen ads, or $150 for the ad-supported version. It's $75 off right now, bringing the 32GB slabs down to $90 and $75, respectively. If you want the larger 64GB storage size, those devices are $95 off right now, too, making the ad-supported version $95 and the ad-free option $110. All models of the HD 10 have similar specs to the Fire HD 8, with a battery life of up to 12 hours, and the same storage capacity options of 32 or 64GB, but the HD 10 comes with an extra gigabyte of RAM over the HD 8, for a total of 3GB, plus an expanded processor configuration (8-core), and of course a larger screen.

Like the 8 Kids Pro, this comes with a year subscription to Amazon Kids+ and a protective case. You get a bigger and higher-resolution HD screen, along with an extra gig of RAM. Razer's Black Friday deals knock $800 off the Blade 14 gaming laptop

Anyone looking for a portable, high-performance gaming laptop might want to move on this Black Friday deal from Razer. Right now this configuration of the Blade 14, normally $2,800, is down to $2,000. This Blade runs on an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX 8 Core processor, and while that's AMD's previous generation chip, it's still plenty fast to handle the latest titles.

Graphics-wise, it's got NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3080 GPU and a 14-inch QHD screen with a 165Hz refresh rate. You get 1TB of SSD storage and 16GB of soldered (non-upgradable) RAM, plus 8GB of video RAM. While that non-upgradable issue might hold some people back, this is still a solid deal on a gaming laptop with a good amount of ports, that also happens to be easy to bring along anywhere you go.

The laptop deal is part of a larger Black Friday sale from Razer, which also includes discounts on peripherals like the Razer Huntsman Mini keyboard. This quiet and smooth gaming deck is our current favorite 60 percent keyboard and the deal takes 42 percent off the list price, bringing it down to $70. It's the lowest price we've seen so far, making this a good time to snag a responsive, RGB-lit deck that takes up minimal space.

If space isn't an issue and you prefer the prowess of a full-sized deck complete with direction keys, a number pad and even a wrist rest, check out the company's BlackWidow V3. It's $50 off, bringing it to $90, which is the lowest it's ever gone outside of last year's Black Friday sale. The mechanical keys produce that satisfying clack, and the BlackWidow offers customization for a unique dial above the number pad, a media button and the individually backlit keys.

When we set out to find the best productivity mouse, Razer's Viper Ultimate was our top pick for a gaming mouse that could handle everyday use. Normally a steep $150, it's now down to a more palatable $75. In addition to being ambidextrous and super light, we called it "a pleasure to use for extended periods."

The Razer Seiren Mini condenser microphone is down to $38 from its usual $50. The USB-based mic follows a supercardioid pickup pattern to focus on your voice instead of ambient background noise, and its compact size doesn't dominate your desktop.

The Nest Thermostat is only $90 as part of Google's Black Friday deals

Google's Nest Thermostat is on sale for just $90 for Black Friday, with a tidy $40 discount. That's among the lowest prices we've seen, and close to the lowest it has gone for so far. Like most smart home devices, the Nest Thermostat grants control via smartphone, tablet, laptop or even a smart display like Amazon's Echo Show or Google's Nest Hub (both of which are seeing significant Black Friday deals).

Since it's programmable and capable of knowing when you're home, the thermostat can save energy by not overly heating or cooling an empty house. Google designed it to be easy to install, and most people can do it themselves. Google says 85 percent of systems are compatible, but before you pick one up, you might want to check your HVAC compatibility on Google's site.

In addition to remote access and programmability, the Next Thermostat has a Savings Finder option within the Nest app that can suggest tweaks to your heating and cooling schedule to save energy. In some cases, owning a Nest can entitle you to rebates from your utility provider.

The sale extends to some of Google's other smart home devices as well. If you're looking to expand your smart home ecosystem with Nest cameras or doorbells, this might be the time to dive in. The Nest Security Cam Wired is 30 percent off its usual $100 price tag, bringing it down to $70 for Black Friday.

As the name suggests, this is the wired version of the smart camera, intended for indoor use. Its smart detection features can tell the difference between your pets wandering around and human visitors. It also lets you see, hear and talk to whomever's in the room and sends alerts and 1080p HDR video to your phone or other devices using the Google Home app. You get three hours of video history without a subscription, or with a $6-per-month subscription, the Nest cam offers 60 days of video history.

Bring a video doorbell into the mix to keep track of packages and people showing up at your door with the Nest Doorbell Battery. It's down to an all-time low of $120, with a $60 discount. The doorbell installs using your existing doorbell wiring to continuously power the device, or it can run on the built-in rechargeable battery. Like the Nest camera, the Google Home app sends alerts and video feed from the doorbell to your phone, laptop or smart display. You can see, hear and talk to anyone who shows up, and you can even program the option of using pre-recorded messages to tell visitors you'll be right there or let delivery people know where to leave your package.

Other versions of the cameras and doorbells are also on sale at Amazon right now. If you'd rather shop direct, the Google Store has Black Friday deals on even more Nest smart home devices.

Samsung's Galaxy S22 Ultra is $300 off ahead of Black Friday

We've been keeping an eye on Samsung to see when their Black Friday deals would hit, and it looks like today's the day. As of right now, all of the latest Galaxy phones are on sale, with the biggest discount going to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. At $300 off the list price, Samsung's most premium (non-folding) Galaxy phone is down to $900. We saw the S22 Ultra drop to this price for a few days earlier this month as a sort of Black Friday preview, but then it jumped back to its usual price. For anyone who missed that window, you can once again grab our current favorite Android phone while it's this low.

We gave the S22 Ultra an 89 in our review, calling it "the best premium Android flagship you can buy." It's got a lot in common with Samsung's discontinued-for-now Note series, especially with its inclusion of the on-board S Pen and the return to a more rectangular shape, but the S22 Ultra is not just a Galaxy Note rehash. It's got a "sumptuous" screen that keeps things looking smooth with a 120Hz refresh rate and bright 6.8-inch Super AMOLED panel. The cameras are also updated, with a 108-megapixel main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a pair of 10MP telephoto lenses in back. There's a 40MP camera in front, along with new customized video calling software for using Google's Duo (now called Google Meet).

The S22 Ultra uses Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processors, which handled fairly intensive multitasking in our tests without getting bogged down or even heating up significantly. While the battery didn't last as long as we were hoping, it gave 17 hours and 16 minutes in our video rundown test.

If you don't need the S Pen, or quite so many cameras, you might try the Galaxy S22+. It's also on sale for Black Friday, with $250 off the MSRP bringing it down to $800. We gave it an 87 in our review, particularly impressed by the extra bright display and ability to take rich low-light photos.

The base model Galaxy S22 also earned an 87 from us. Even at the list price of $800, we said the S22 gives you more "phone for the money than anything you can buy from Apple or Google." Now that it's down to $700, that statement is truer than ever.

Xbox controllers are up to 35 percent off for Black Friday

If you're gifting an Xbox Series S or X this year, or even grabbing one for yourself, here's a chance to get an extra Xbox Core controller for just $40. We saw the Xbox Core controllers get a more a more modest 26 percent discount back in September, but this sale matches the lowest prices we've seen yet. Right now the black and white versions of the official joypads are 35 percent off, and the lime green (aka electric volt) colorway is seeing a decent, 31 percent discount. Some of the special edition Core controllers are on sale too, like the shimmery lunar shift, which is $20 off.

New Xbox consoles are going to be a popular gift this year, and an extra controller is great for local multiplayer sessions, or if you just want to have a backup on hand. The Core controllers have textured trigger buttons, custom button mapping and a 3.5 mm headset jack. They run on two AA batteries, with your first set included, and get around 40 hours of play on a charge.

If you want a little more comfort and customization, plus a rechargeable battery, you might try one of Xbox's Elite controllers. They're only seeing an eight percent discount off their usual $180, but that still saves you a tidy $15. Or to shave off that pesky Bluetooth lag, Amazon also has wireless adapter Xbox controllers on sale. The controller connects via Bluetooth to any Xbox console or Windows PC, or plug in the dongle to your PC to help eliminate the latency some people experience with Bluetooth connections. The adapter also lets you connect up to eight controllers for local multiplayer gaming.
